Here is a simple yet a very delicious dessert to satisfy our sweet tooth. Verrine is a confection, orginally from france, made by layering ingredients in a small glass, it can be either sweet or savory, making a dessert or snack. If you have planned for a party or gathering, and have less time to prepare dessert, this dish comes in handy. Here you go for the recipe.....

Ingredients :

Milk - 1 Cup
Custard Powder - 1Table Spoon
Sugar - 3 Table Spoon ( Adjust accordingly )
Papaya ( Finely Chopped ) - 1/4 Cup
Papaya Puree - 1/4 cup
Chopped Almonds - 2 Table Spoon
Chopped Cherries - 2 Table Spoon
Cardamom / Elachi Powder - A Generous pinch.

Method :

Add some papaya pieces in a blender and puree it.
Mix custard powder with 1/4 cup of milk and keep aside. Heat the remaining milk and sugar, when it starts boiling, add the custard Powder & milk mixture to it and stir continuously, so that no lumps are formed.
Stir until you get a thick consistency, lastly add elachi powder to it.
Allow it to cool completely.

Now take a small glass/ cup arrange the ingredients in layers, like papaya pulp being the first layer, then  add a layer of custard, then sprinkle some chopped almonds, layer the chopped papaya over it lastly sprinkle some chopped almonds and cherries on top. You can layer as much as you can.
Once the layering is done, refrigerate the verrines for at least and hour and serve chilled.

Adding fresh cream to the custard will enhance the taste and richness.
You can add any dry fruits of your choice as toppings.
