Aloo & Capsicum Fry/Curry/Sabzi

Potatoes are called "Aloo" in hindi. Aloo & Capsicum fry/sabzi aka Potato capsicum curry is a simple yet very tasty recipe. It's very flavorful and easy to make. A very good combination for rice as well as roti. Here is the recipe......

Ingredients :

Potatoes - 4 Nos
Capsicum - 2 Nos (Small Size)
Garlic - 5 Pods
Dhaniya powder /Coriander Powder - 1 Table Spoon
Chili Powder - 1 & 1/2 Teaspoon
Grated Coconut - 1/4 Cup
Jeera / Cumin Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
Garam Masala - 1 Teaspoon
Oil - 2 Table spoon
Salt - As per taste

Method :

Grind grated coconut, red chili powder, little salt and garlic finely and keep it aside.

Boil potatoes with salt until soft and cut it into cubes. Cut the capsicum into cubes. Heat oil in a pan, add capsicum, sprinkle little salt and fry until its cooked but still firm, then add the cubed potatoes and sauté well along with capsicum for about 2 to 3 minutes then add jeera ( cumin), coriander, turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Then add the ground coconut spice powder to it and fry till the raw smell leaves. Finally add the garam masala and give a quick stir. Serve hot with rice or roti, this urulai kizhangu & kudaimilagai poriyal / curry is an excellent combination for sambhar sadam or bisibelabath :-)

To make it colorful I have used red and green capsicum, you can try with any color capsicum.
